Welcome everyone to another week of ANSA (Authors Not-So Anonymous)! This week it is my pleasure to introduce Nancy Thompson.
Nancy Thompson is a suspense/romance fiction author. "They're rather dark and emotional and have a bit of
violence, but it's never gratuitous. My books have strong themes. The
Mistaken, for example, is all about forgiveness and acceptance." She began writing in March 2010 with her debut novel The Mistaken. Her novels have been published by a new small press called Sapphire Star Publishing.
She currently lives with her husband, son and their two pets in the western part of Washington. "I've been with the same guy for 30 years and married for
22. We have one son who's currently attending college. I have a giant
snow dog, Jack, and a new kitty named Skye. I love to cook, play the
piano, watch movies, and travel, but if I could, I'd spend my days
reading. I'm an interior designer by trade, and have operated my
own company for the last 16 years. But most recently, I took a position
with my publisher as a book editor, which keeps me very busy when I'm
not writing my own stuff."
Nancy's debut novel The Mistaken released in Fall of 2012. She is currently working on the sequel titled Leverage. "It's about a man who turns to
vengeance following the death of his pregnant wife, but his poor
judgment leads him to do unspeakable things that put he and his his
brother's lives in serious jeopardy. I'm
now working on the sequel, titled Leverage. Once again, it's all about
revenge and how far people will go for personal justice and to protect
those they love, but this time, the tables are turned."
The biggest inspiration for Nancy's novel(s) is music. "Music inspires me. In fact, The Mistaken was inspired by one song, Thirty Seconds To Mars' Hurricane. The lyrics, "Tell me, would you kill to save a life, would you kill to prove you're right?"
made me wonder what could make a good, law-abiding man commit a violent
crime and could he ever return to the man he used to be.
I tend to listen to rather dark, gritty music, like Three Days Grace,
Smile Empty Soul, and Staind, all great angst-ridden tunes to inspire
me." Her all time favorite author is John Hart, but she also loves Greg Iles and Michael Connelly.
All Tyler Karras wants is to enjoy life with his expectant
bride. What he gets instead is a graveside seat at her funeral. With the
woman who killed her uncharged and still free, all Ty wants now is
revenge.
His brother, Nick, has dangerous connections and suggests a sadistic plan: grab the woman responsible and hand her over to his associates--sex-traffickers in San Francisco's Russian Mafia. They offer Ty more than he dreamed possible. In exchange for the woman, they'll finally let his brother leave the business for good--with his debt wiped clean and his heart still beating.
There's just one problem: Ty kidnaps the wrong woman.
Now he must protect Hannah Maguire from the very enemy he's unleashed, but the Russians are holding Nick as leverage to force Ty to complete the deal. Caught in a no-win situation, Ty must find a way to save himself, his brother, and the woman, but with the Russian Mafia, even two out of three makes for very long odds.
