Visions plague Peter with warnings that something wants him for a sinister cause. It desires the one thing that Peter refuses to give—his blood. About the Author, L.M. Preston:
L.M. Preston loved to create poetry and short-stories as a young girl. She worked in the IT field as a Techie and Educator for over sixteen years. Her passion for writing science fiction was born under the encouragement of her husband who was a Sci-Fi buff and her four kids. Her obsessive desire to write and create stories of young people who overcome unbelievable odds feeds her creation of multiple series for Middle Grade and Young Adult readers thirsty for an adventure. She loves to write while on the porch watching her kids play or when she is traveling, which is another passion that encouraged her writing.

My Review:
Purgatory Reign is a very creative novel.  Peter, a young teen who lives in an orphanage, believes he is cursed.  He saw his parents die when he was very young and it has plagued him ever since.  He was taken in by Pastor Finn at the orphanage - but little did he know it wasn't because his parents were dead, it's because the Pastor is protecting him from something evil.  When Peter witnesses the death of a young girl named Hanna, she gives him a mark on his hand that will change his entire life.  Pastor Finn send Peter away to another hidden church so he can be safe.  While at the new church Peter discovers a map of other places with strange symbols on them - and the ghost of his Mom....

The story gets even more thrilling and is filled with plot twists (which I absolutely loved).  L.M. Preston took a typical coming-of-age story and gave it a whole new fantasy/sci-fi twist.  I loved the creativity put into this novel.  I never fully knew what was going to happen until the very end.  An incredible novel that keeps your interest the entire time.  I definitely recommend this one to anyone who loves a good thriller, fantasy, YA novel.  So... L.M. when is the sequel coming out?! :D
